According to the statistics released by the international stainless steel Forum (ISSF) on March 14, the global output of stainless steel crude steel reached 56.289 million tons in 2021, an increase of about 10.6 percent over the previous year's 50.892 million tons. China's Chinese mainland's growth rate is about 10.4 percent to 2 million 368 thousand tons, and the Chinese mainland's growth is about 1.6 percent to 30 million 632 thousand tons. The growth rate of China, Korea and Indonesia, including India, Japan and China's Taiwan, is about 21.2 percent to 7 million 792 thousand tons, with the growth of about 13.6 percent to 7 million 181 thousand tons. Other regions (mainly Indonesia, South Korea, South Africa, Brazil and Russia) increased by about 42.0 percent to 8.316 million tons.
In the fourth quarter of 2021, the global output of stainless steel crude steel reached 13.713 million tons, a small increase of about 1.2 percent compared with the revised 13.55 million tons in the previous quarter. This is mainly driven by the increase in production in Europe. In the same period, the output of Europe increased by about 11.4 percent , and the Chinese mainland's output increased slightly by 0.3 percent compared with the previous quarter's revised output.
